We hope you'll check us out. You'll find us to be a bunch of followers of Jesus who are being transformed and empowered for Abundant Life.

This website will give you lots of information about River Valley and the "stuff" we do. We hope to see you in person real soon!

unique times

Dear River Valley Family:

My goodness, these are strange times in which we are living! But we can be certain of one thing: that God and the message of His love for us in Jesus Christ remains rock solid. That must be our foundation as we navigate in the months ahead.

As the River Valley family regathers for corporate worship, these are our goals:

1.  We will stay on mission and make disciples!

Matthew 28:19-20

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.

2.  We will strive for the protection of everyone… especially our most vulnerable.

Matthew 25:40

“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’”

3.  We will please Jesus in every decision and action.

2 Corinthians 5:9

So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him.

4.  In this climate of polarization, we will preserve the unity of our church family and resolve conflict for the glory of God.

John 13:35

Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

Currently we are gathering for worship each Sunday in an outdoor setting on the church grounds. Click here for more information on that.

As we gather this Sunday, you may wish to hug everyone you see, you may not want to wear a mask, you may want to come even if you’re not feeling so well. But I would ask you to reconsider your response in light of #4 above. What does love demand? What does acting in the best interest of the other person require? What would please Jesus as we regather?

Whether you are thinking River Valley should never have closed in the first place or you think we are rushing too quickly into gathering, we must allow for differing opinions on everything that you will read in our regathering plan. But out of love for each other, we must allow for these differences of opinion. We must act in the best interest of everyone… that’s love.

Stay tuned for more details on how God is leading us to regather. May He bless our efforts with health and safety for all.
